Disclosure
We are not a financial advice provider
NZ Mortgages is not a mortgage broker, a lender or a licensed financial advice provider. We hold no Financial Markets Authority licence and we are not registered on the Financial Service Providers Register.
Everything on this site is general information. The calculators perform arithmetic on figures you enter. They do not assess your circumstances, do not tell you what you qualify for, and do not recommend a lender or a product. For advice about your own situation you need a licensed adviser, and the FMA maintains guidance on finding one.
What we earn
Nothing, currently. This site sells no products, runs no advertising, takes no payment from any lender or adviser, and has no referral arrangement in place.
If that changes we will say so here and on the page where it matters, stating who pays us, what for, and how much, before you act on it. We will not introduce a paid arrangement and leave the disclosure to a footer link.
Limits you should know about
- Break costs are indicative only. Each New Zealand bank uses its own formula and its own internal wholesale rates, which are not public. Only your lender can give you your actual break cost, and they will put it in writing on request.
- Borrowing figures are not approvals. The borrowing calculator shows what loan a repayment supports at a rate you choose. Lenders apply their own servicing models, assess living costs and credit history, and will reach a different number.
- We publish no interest rates. Rates are an input, not something we quote, because a stale published rate is actively misleading.
- Policy changes.First home support, LVR restrictions and the tax treatment of borrowing costs all change. The administering body — Kāinga Ora, the Reserve Bank, Inland Revenue — is the authority on what applies today.
Your data
The calculators run in your browser. Figures you type are not transmitted to us, stored or logged. See privacy for what is and is not collected.
